I hope you enjoyed part 1 of my blogs about Morocco. Welcome to part 2!
In the morning we headed down the coast to Bouznika, a very beautiful and popular seaside town. One thing that jumped out at me was the amount of unfinished buildings. All the part-built beachside developments kind of ruined the drive a little bit but it was still very beautiful. We went to Eden Surf Club to try out paddle boarding. I thought I was going to be a lot worse than I was to be honest. It was a bit wobbly but surprisingly easy to stand up and I only fell in twice. Unfortunately the second time I fell in I stepped on a sea urchin and got a spike in my foot. Bob (owner of the surf school) was amazing with it, he said it happened all the time and came out with his rubbing alcohol, a pair of pliers and a fish hook. He straightened out the fish hook and started trying to get it out. It was a lot bigger than they thought and he had to cut the skin a bit to get it out. That was my official initiation into being a surfer.
After surfing we headed to our hotel to get ready for dinner. We went to Rick’s cafe which featured in the movie Casablanca, the food was incredible. I would have loved to have longer there to explore the city because the next day we had to head to Marrakech, which you can read about in my next post!
